About Nico

Look at that walnut in my foot in the photo and tell me I am not living my best life! That is my proud face after successfully cracking open a treat in under ten seconds flat.

My name is Nico. I am a three-year-old Military Macaw, and if you want a bird that keeps you laughing, I am pretty much the total package. I love playing with wood blocks, untying rope knots, and pacing back and forth on my perch doing little excited head bobs when someone walks in with food.

I step up onto hands or arms without hesitation, and for a macaw with a beak this size, I am surprisingly gentle. I love saying "Hello Nico!", making funny laser sound effects, and leaning my neck out for slow, gentle scratches right underneath my red forehead band.

I am healthy, banded, fully feathered, and ready for a home with people who have time to hang out with me every day and let me be part of the household. If you have a soft spot for green macaws with huge personalities, send in an application and let's meet!
