About Phoenix

Phoenix here, and as you can tell from the photos, I take my snack time very seriously! That is me holding my favorite whole walnut in one foot, working on cracking it open like a seasoned pro.

I am a three-and-a-half-year-old Scarlet Macaw with bright colors and an even brighter personality. I am fully hand-tame and step up onto arms nicely whenever you ask. Despite being a big bird, I am very gentle when taking treats from fingers, especially cracked walnuts, sweet clementines, and almonds.

I love staying busy with puzzle toys, climbing around, and seeing what everyone in the house is up to. I know how to say "Hello Phoenix!", "Good boy!", and I will let out a funny little laugh whenever something exciting happens. When evening comes, I settle down nicely on my perch and love getting soft neck scratches right behind my red head feathers.

I am healthy, banded, fully feathered, and ready to find a loving home with someone who appreciates big macaws and has time to hang out with me every day. If you want a stunning, smart companion who will keep you entertained, put in an application for me!
